Rimrock Outfitters...

Our Experienced Guides and Mountain Bred Horses will make your trail ride a quality experience, one to remember! With safety in mind, we will match the experience level and riding ability of the guest to the best of our remuda of horses.

Enjoy the Rocky Mountains the way they were meant to be… on horseback! This vacation adventure takes you through the alpine beauty of the San Juan National Forest. The smell of the pines and the creak of the leather saddle, wildlife and wildflowers are the stuff memories are made of.  Rimrock Outfitters shares the excitement and splendor of the Colorado’s Rockies!

Located at 8000′ elevation in the foothills of Colorado’s La Plata Mountains, Rimrock Outfitters offers horseback rides from one hour in length up to all day rides. Our trails wind through aspen, pine, and fir forests, along the west fork of the Mancos River, around alpine lakes, and into open mountain meadows with incredible views of the mountain peaks. The highest peak is Mt. Hesperus at 13,232 feet.

The perfect way to view the splendor of the Rocky Mountains and see the wildlife is from the back of a horse.  Be sure to bring your camera; our horses are used to them!

Our remuda contains well trained horses for the novice and for the experienced rider. The minimum age for trail riders is six years, but younger children may get a complimentary lead-around ride at the corral. You will never get tired of Colorado’s fabulous scenery or of riding Rimrock Outfitters’ trails, and we never get tired of sharing southwestern Colorado’s best with you!
